Community Arts is a signature program of Baltimore Clayworks and has been for more than twenty-three years. Through this initiative, Clayworks conducts arts activities beyond its doors, developing collaborations with grassroots and cultural organizations, schools and public agencies. Clayworks' artists invest in individuals and communities who otherwise would have limited or no access to the arts, providing high quality hands-on clay classes and workshops to people where they live, learn, work and play.
To provide the Baltimore community with a quality experience in ceramics, the Community Arts Program offers contract classes, operates three Clay for All! satellite studios, and orchestrates public art installations in Baltimore City. Baltimore Clayworks is passionately committed to and nationally recognized for providing access to hands-on art making activities year round to economically and socially marginalized citizens in the greater Baltimore community.
We are very excited about providing you an interactive way to experience the Community Arts program for yourself. This web site will be updated every month with new videos and/or audio interviews. Please visit regularly so that you experience some of the joy, excitement, delight and pleasure that our clay workshop and class participants exhibit in the videos that you're about to see.
